COVID-19 HEALTH UPDATE: Our dining room remains closed but we continue to provide take-out for our community

Community Announcement

A LETTER TO OUR COMMUNITY

Dear Ore House Friends & Family,

Reflecting on the year behind us, there is a great deal to think about. As the longest standing restaurant in the community, we have seen many years pass by, none quite like the last. The roller coaster of operating a small independent restaurant was one with so many twists and turns, it left us standing up from the cart feeling a little dizzy.

We still envision our restaurant being a warm place to provide a beautiful dining experience to each person walking through our doors. We understand the cabin fever and wishing to enjoy a meal in a restaurant and we commiserate, we miss you too. With the world being how uncertain it is, we have made a conscientious decision to remain patient and wait for the right time where we feel we can truly provide a memorable in house dining experience for our guests again.

We deeply appreciate the outpouring of support from our community, our hearts melt with every kind word. Your continued support allows us to not only stay in business and keep our team employed, it gives us the opportunity to continue navigating the unique challenges of this pandemic in a way that is best for the health of our team and community.

We will continue to operate with the highest health and safety standards. We promise that the same level of care and attention to detail that you have become accustomed to when sitting in our dining room will be placed into every to-go meal and take-home kit that we hand to you curb-side. We are excited to continue focusing our efforts on creating unique and memorable at home dining experiences to help celebrate the good times that are still abundant.

Until the time comes that opening our dining room is something we believe that the community truly needs again, we will be here smiling and ready to prepare dinner for you and your family!

Sincerely,
The Ore House Family

$2,600WA 97+ "Composed roughly of two-thirds Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, the medium to deep colored 2016 The Flight opens with bold, expressive notions of wild blueberries, warm plums and boysenberries with touches of black raspberries, spice cake, violets, dark chocolate and potpourri with a hint of menthol. Full-bodied, rich, spicy and jam-packed with energy, it has beautifully plush tannins texturing the multilayered blue and black fruits, delivering a very long, perfumed finish.

2005 Jacques Selosse Millesime

$430Extra-Brut | Grand Cru | Blanc de Blancs

Sellose Champange has earned the reputation for being some of the finest in the region. The domaine produces less than 60,000 bottles per year ( for perspective big Champagne houses produce millions) and follows a strict biodynamic farming practice.

Millesime draws off the same parcels every year which allows full expression of the vintage.
The wine is very elegant and complex with notes of almonds, honey and saffron. Drink now or age for 5 years to enhance the savory richness of this Champagne.

2017 Bruno Clair Marsannay Rosé

$36Côte d' Or, Burgundy, France

Bruno Clair Rosé pays homage to the family history because his grandfather was the first to try producing rosé in Marsannay from his Pinot Noir grapes in 1919. His first rosé was such a success it became a specialty in the area, which then spread across France.

The wines are delicate, soft and fruit forward. Unlike most rosé, for it to reach its peak, the wine is stored for a year in stainless vasts and is best not consumed young. The wine is drinking at its absolute peak now!

2017 Occhipinti SP 68 Sicilia Bianco

$32Beautiful, naturally made wines from a Sicilian female winemaker Arianna Occhipinti. The wine is named SP68 after a road near her home in Vittoria.

Muscat blend that is a medium bodied highly aromatic and floral wine with piercing acidity. Fantastic to drink alongside appetizers, shellfish and vegetarian dishes.

2017 Massican Vineyards Annia

$38White Blend | Napa Valley, California

Massican brings the refreshing, bright style of the Meditterenian to California! Massican is named after Monte Massico the coastal mountain range in Italy where their founders are from.

Annia is their flagship wine sourced from small vineyards around Napa Valley. It is a blend of Tocai Friulano, Robolla Gialla, and Chardonnay. The Chardonnay adds body to the wine while the Tocai and Ribolla add nice aromas.

The wine displays aromas of honeysuckle, some toasted almond and white peach. Crisp, clean and pure!

2004 R. Lopez De Heredia Viña Tondonia

$50Viura | Reserva | Haro, Rioja, Spain

There are few wines in the world that guards its traditions as proudly as Lopez De Heredia. Little about this winery has changed in 142 years since opening. There are many cool things about R Lopez, but the fact that he holds onto his wines in his underground cellars until they are ready for consumption (a minimum of three years and up to ten) is extraordinary and pretty rare in this current wine making age. The result is a super smooth and rich wine.

Displays notes of almond, beeswax, honey, vanilla and dried flowers.

Magnificent aged wine for the price!

2015 Bruno Clair Savigny Les Baune La Dominode

$120La Dominode belongs to the premier cru Les Haut-Jarrons. The vineyard lies midslope overlooking the Corton Grand Cru hill to the north. This area produces small yields and the original vines were planted in 1902 although individual vines have been replanted as needed. The slopes are steep and are east facing, which is ideal for morning sun. Because of the close proximity to Corton, the wines are actually a bargain for the price!

Bruno's wines are considered some of the greatest by his fellow growers, who admire his attention to detail in the vineyard and his organic practices.

La Dominode is elegant and complex with hints of red cherry, rose petals and some mushrooms. Would benefit from two hours of decanting.

2011 Paulo Bea Sagrantino Secco di Montelfalco

$108Quintessential artisanal producer that dates back centuries lies in the heart of Montefalco, Tuscany. The Bea family prioritizes natural winemaking and raises and produces most of what they consume on a daily basis. His philosophy is 'Nature should be observed, heard, [and] understood, not dominated.'

His wines are serious and wine geeks hold them in high regard, but they also have a huge breadth of appeal! This is the wine that put the grape Sagrantino on the map and is a sought after wine in Bea's lineup. The dark fruit is followed by some savory spice, is juicy but balanced by some robust tannin. The wine begs to be paired with a juicy steak!

2006 R. Lopez De Heredia Viña Bosconia

$44Reserva | Haro, Rioja

R Lopez has a well earned reputation as a top traditionalist of Rioja.Lopez pioneered the single vineyard wine in Rioja, a tradition they still honor with each of their wines. This medium bodied wine is just entering its window of opportunity. These wines are built around delicacy and finesse not raw power. While this wine will accommodate any grilled meat it also has potential to age an additional 10 years.

Notes of cherry, licorice and vanilla jump out of the glass, the body is still quite vibrant while also seamlessly integrated. Be sure to decant for 2 hours.

2016 Kosta Browne Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

$102Recently purchased by Duckhorn, Kosta Browne's allocation-list model will always stay in place. The wines are hard to find and most of their production is sold only to their email list. Kosta Browne started with 1400 in the bank but their big breakthrough came with their 2003 vintage that earned 90^ scores in wine spectator.

This elegant wine is medium bodied with dusty cherries, raspberries and orange peels with a touch of earth and spice.

2015 Arnot-Roberts Syrah

$42Arnot Roberts is an affordable Californian cult wine because they keep their premises small and get their hands dirty by making their own wine. They make a beautiful Syrah and sell outside the US to the UK and Scandinavia, which very few wineries do. Even though their wines are high in demand, they strive to keep their wines accessible to all.

This Syrah is Northern Rhone-esque fermented whole cluster, displays notes of cassis, pepper and dark raspberry. The wine is rich, full bodied with some grip and focus. Will be a perfect match for your grilled meats!

2015 Dominus Bordeaux Blend

$322You certainly can't have a list of cult wines without including Dominus. Dominus is one of the best wines to use when conducting a blind tasting against Bordeaux. It is beautifully balanced, fresh and lacks an over ripeness some Napa is known for. Christian Mouiex is the owner and he also oversees several properties in Pomeral and St. Emilion including the famed Chateau Petrus.

"Dominus 2015, with its remarkably complex nose, is an utterly seductive wine. It displays red and black fruits and an ethereal aroma of deep cherry, warm citrus and marzipan. Finely polished tannins on a beautiful, weightless finish are accompanied by great depth and length."

2005 Heitz Marthas Vineyard Cabernet (1.5 Liter)

$375Heitz Wine Cellar Marthas Vineyard Cabernet is not only of California's greatest wines, it is also one of the last living examples of traditional Napa Valley winemaking, unchanged for half a century. Marthas famed ability to age for decades makes this 2005 a gem to drink today. The style is considered opulent, the wines are rich and velvety.

The 2005 growing season was near perfect weather growing conditions.

"94 points John Gilman The 2005 Martha's Vineyard has an absolutely flamboyant nose that soars from the glass in a celestial blend of red and black cherries, mint, raw cocoa, woodsmoke, Rutherford Dust and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very, very pure, with a rock solid core of sappy fruit, beautiful complexity, a very generous attack, impeccable focus and balance and stunning length and grip on the ripely tannic and perfectly poised finish."

2007 Giuseppe Quintarelli Amabile del Ceré

$450White Blend | I.G.T. Veneto, Italy

Nothing is hurried at Quintarelli. The wines take their time and are given the time they need. Every release is a masterpiece. Amabile Del Ceré is the rarest of Quintarelli's wines and is named after a lost barrel that was hidden under food stores and undiscovered during a Nazi raid of the property during WWII. When the wine was rediscovered years later, the wine had aged beautifully.

It is harvested before most other grapes and after harvest the grapes are left to sit on wooden mats to develop a rot, called botrytis, which affects 30-40% of the grapes. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 5-6 years.

The wine displays stonefruit, dried figs, christmas spices, caramel, and white flowers.

The last 2 releases of this wine were 2003 & 1990. Extremely rare!

MV Jacques Selosse Substance

$370Brut | Grand Cru | Blanc de Blancs

Sellose Champange has earned the reputation for being some of the finest in the region. The domaine produces less than 60,000 bottles per year ( for perspective big Champagne houses produce millions) and follows a strict biodynamic farming practice.

This extremely unique Champagne is from a single vineyard in Avize, produced in a solera system that was started in the 1987 vintage. Small amounts of more current vintages are added to top of what is bottled. Solera production is very rare for Champagne.

Substance is the purest essence of terroir. By uniting some 20 vintages, he removes vintage variation to allow the Avize terroir to be the main focus. The result is rich, honeyed and nutty, very focused with a strong mineral backbone.

2017 Booker Pink

$35Rosé of Grenache | Paso Robles, California

Paso Robles may have been in the shadow of Napa and Sonoma but today is the fastest growing wine region in the States. Paso has incredible soil diversity very similar to the Rhone Valley in France. Booker wines use only biodynamic farming practices which causes the wines to be healthier and more balanced. The wines are more concentrated due to low yeilds resulting in depth and texture.

Pink is a blend based of Syrah and Grenache, medium bodied highlighting strawberry and cherry fruit with a nice acidity.
Enjoy on its own or will accompany an array of dishes!

2018 Pax Trousseau Gris

$33Dry farmed in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma, Pax produces some world class wines! He utilizes traditional winemaking techniques and each wine showcases the true personality of the vineyard sites. Their approach to winemaking is pure and unadulterated and he uses no sulfur.

Trousseau Gris is native to the Jura region in France where it is made into a slightly colored wine. The wine appears to be a rosé but it is not. Due to some skin contact the wine is a peachy hue and has more complexity than you might think! The wine is bright and fresh with notes of orange peel and lemon followed by a mineral backbone. Will pair with a medley of foods ranging from shellfish to meats and cheeses. Very cool wine made in limited quantities!

2011 Paolo Bea Arboreus Umbria Bianco

$64Trebbiano Spoletino | Montefalco

Artisanal producer that dates back to the early part of the 12th century in the beautiful region of Montelfaco, Umbria. Paulo Bea currently is the winemaker who now teaches his two sons the traditional and noninterventionist ways of wine making. His wines typically have some sediment, demonstrating his natural winemaking approach. Paolo Bea likes to keeps a modest profile and only has 1/3 of his estate planted to vine. His wines are obscure and production is extremely limited.

The wine has intense aromas and a weighty mouthfeel from the juice fermenting with the skins for two weeks before bottling. It is amber hued, lush with some tropical fruits balanced by some nice minerality. The wine has taken on a honeyed nose from nine years of bottle aging. Utterly delicious!

2001 Cesari Amarone Il Bosco

$177Red Blend | Della Valpolicella Classico D.O.C.G.

Amarone is not cheap, but it shouldn't be considering the process! Amarone is produced from perfectly ripe grapes that are then dried and raisonated which takes about 4 months. If you can imagine how much juice comes out of a raison, it isn't much. Cesari Amarone is then aged half in French oak barrels and half in Slovenian oak for three years. The Slovenian imparts a pretty, floral aroma while the French barrels gives it some vanilla spice. Cesari is a top producer for Amarone, and considering it is 19 years old, its a bargain!

The wine started out deep, dark and rich, but overtime the wine has matured into a medium bodied delicacy. With notes of stewed cherries, chocolate, molasses and fig, it is really a great opportunity to taste a 20 year old amarone!

2006 Vega-Sicilia Unico

$480Red Blend | D.D.O Ribera Del Duero

Founded in the 1860's, its reputation on its flagship vintage has for more than 100 years produced two great wines each named "unico". Vega Sicilia only releases the best vintages after a decade or sometimes more of aging. Vega Sicilia was also the first Spanish producer to blend traditional Bordeaux grapes with the local fruit. They are a unique hybrid of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo.

The climate is harsh in the Ribera Del Duero which produces wine with great intensity, but because of the regions extreme temperature changes the vintage variation is pretty drastic every year. Unico is consistently a great choice because it is made only when the weather is ideal and the grapes ripen perfectly. Unico bottles have the structure to age for 50 years, so it is a great collectors wine.

Unico is medium to full bodied, ripe, floral with some dark berries, spice and cedar. Decant for two hours and make sure to spend some serious time with this wine!

2014 CIRQ. Treehouse Pinot Noir

$150Russian River Valley, Sonoma, California

There are many things special about this Pinot Noir that sits 8 miles inland from the Pacific coast at an elevation of 750 feet above the fog line. Because it sits right about the fog, Treehouse receives more sun than any other vineyard site in the Russian River Valley and the fog also keeps things cool. This diurnal temperature variation lends to a perfectly ripened grape that still holds their acidity. To top things off, the vineyard is surrounded by a cyprus grove, which is mind boggling when every other tree around is a fir or redwood! The iron rich volcanic soils helps mature the grapes evenly and the well established roots rely mostly on ground water. This magical place creates magical wines!

The wine is elegant, vibrant, with some grippy tannins, notes of bright fruit, anise, vanilla, followed by some darker plums on the palate. Drinking well now and also can continue aging.

2016 Booker Ripper Grenache

$80Paso Robles may have been in the shadow of Napa and Sonoma but today is the fastest growing wine region in the States. Paso has incredible soil diversity very similar to the Rhone Valley in France. Booker wines use only biodynamic farming practices which causes the wines to be healthier and more balanced. The wines are more concentrated due to low yeilds resulting in depth and texture.

Some consider Ripper to be the best wines to come out of the Booker lineup. Ripper is only made in select years when the growing season is considered best and the Grenache shows top notch quality. Eric Jenson, the wine maker, is focused on upscale Rhone-style red blends intended to compete with high end Napa and other top Californian regions.

Made from 100% Grenache this wine is not massive and heavy, it is beautiful and balanced with bright red fruit and is drinking well now, but is also capable to age a few more years.

2013 Hyde De Villaine Belle Cousine

$83Merlot/Cab Sauvignon | Los Carneros, Napa, California

Established in 2000, Hyde De Villaine is a collaborative venture between the Hyde family of Napa Valley and the Villaine family of Burgundy. The families, related by marriage create single vineyard wines from Napa and Sonoma. The wines are of finesse and elegant power. They are balanced with the finest elements of Napa ( strength and ripeness) and with those of Bordeaux (elegance and complexity). The two together make for an exceptional wine!

The wine spends 21 months in barrel with only 25% new oak. Cassis and plum with layers of cigar box, chocolate and mint. The wine is drinking harmoniously now, but will also age exceptionally well.

2015 Opus One

$367Opus One is a collaboration between Barron Phillipe Rothchild and Robert Mondavi, two of arguably the best respected winemakers in the world. Opus One is their flagship wine, and the only other wine they make, Overture, is with the fruit that didn't quite make the cut to go into Opus One. It is a Cabernet dominant Bordeaux blend with most of the fruit coming from Kalon vineyard. The Kalon vineyard is jointly owned by some top Napa producers and is regarded as some of the best winemaking land in Napa.

"Initial dark fruit, spice and baking aromas in the 2015 Opus One are interwoven with seductive notes of
violet, black tea, and sage. The entry is vibrant with ripe dark fruit flavors of plum, blackberry and
blueberry followed by hints of vanilla and cocoa. Silky, fine-grained tannins provide structure and a
creamy texture. The wine finishes with fresh acidity and a rich, lingering finish that promises longevity
in the cellar."
